He is more philosophical and while Conan is famous for being a womanizer, Kull is completely disinterested, possibly even asexual. Even some of Kull's enemies were added to Conan's, Thulsa Doom appearing in the Conan the Barbarian (1982) and the Serpent men in the animated series Conan the Adventurer. A barbarian that will one day become a king of a great kingdom by killing the previous mad king with his own hands. Still, Kull's influence can be seen on Conan.
From that point, Conan replaced Kull as Howard's barbarian character. He was barbarian that Howard created before Conan, but after his Kull story, titled By This Axe I Rule! was rejected he rewrote the story, changed some names and plot points and it became the first Conan story called The Phoenix on the Sword.
